  * hint #1:  8,000 - 12,000 is a range to look for the solution (in problem c) - no need to include it in your equations
  * hint #2:  1a equations are all income equations (no costs involved)
  * hint #3:  1a equation (i.) - use the relationship  income = (price)(number of tickets sold)
  * hint #4:  problem 1b is profit

Homework - make corrections on the proficiency check that was passed back in class.
